It is suggested to bring the local CNI from the UK because it makes it easier in the process of the court marriage in Nepal. The local CNI will be provided by the UK government after the 28th day of its application. The local CNI will be exchanged in the British Embassy, Kathmandu, with the CNI of the Embassy.

The other CNI is from the Embassy. If you don’t bring a local CNI from the UK, you need to get an online appointment after coming to Nepal to get the CNI from the Embassy. You should be in Nepal for a full 3 days before visiting the UK Embassy in Nepal, so fix your appointment accordingly. The consular sections are open only on Mondays and Thursdays. You will need to fill out an Affidavit in the consular section and request the CNI. The costs are 50 pounds at the time of application and 50 pounds at the time of your CNI dispatch.

Before visiting Nepal, call/mail the British Embassy in Nepal about the required documents for surety. The consular section will provide the affidavit and CNI on the 8th day of your application.
